Special mutton chukka preparation with step by step photos and quick video.Wanna make kids to eat mutton ? We all know that kids loves chicken and mostly broiler which is not a healthy one.I am sure that kids will love this special mutton chukka and its pretty simple to make this recipe in quick time.I would recommend to get the boneless mutton pieces in smaller size to make this chukka with perfect taste.It’s not going to be too spicy since we will be using less amount of chilli & chilly powder. Spicy can be adjusted according to the individuals .

Mutton Chukka Recipe/Special Mutton Chukka recipe easy to make and authentic kongunadu style.

Ingredients
  • Mutton – 1 kg
  • Ginger garlic paste - 2 tsp
  • Turmeric powder – 1 tsp
  • Red Chilli powder – 1/2 tsp
  • Salt – to taste
  • Roasted gram dal powder - 2tbsp (potukadalai)
  • To Temper:
  • Oil- 2tbsp
  • Mustard -1/2 tsp
  • Dired red chilli -2
  • Curry leaves – few
Directions
  • Step 1 Take the pressure cooker and add oil
  • Step 2 Add ginger garlic paste and saute well
  • Step 3 Add mutton pieces
  • Step 4 Add turmeric powder, salt to taste and saute well.
  • Step 5 Add water
  • Step 6 Pressure cook for 5 whistles(or until soft) in medium low flame.
  • Step 7 Take pan add oil
  • Step 8 Add mustard seeds & let it splutter.
  • Step 9 Add curry leaves & red chilli
  • Step 10 Add ginger garlic paste
  • Step 11 Add turmeric powder & red chilli powder saute well
  • Step 12 Add cooked mutton pieces and saute well
  • Step 13 Add roasted gram dal powder and allow to blend well
  • Step 14 Serve hot with steamed rice

MAKING OF MUTTON CHUKKA

1. In a pressure cooker, add oil

OIL

 

2. Add ginger garlic paste and saute well

3. Add mutton pieces.

MUTTON

 

4. Add turmeric powder, salt to taste and saute well.

SALT &TURMERIC

 

5. Add water for boil the mutton.

WATER

 

6. Pressure cook for 5 whistles(or until soft) in medium low flame.

7. Take the pan & add oil

8. Add mustard seeds & let it splutter

MUSTARD

 

9. Add curry leaves and red chilli.

DIRED CHILL

 

10. Add ginger garlic paste

GINGER PASTE

 

11. Add turmeric powder & red chilli powder saute well

TURMERIC RED CHILLI POWDER

 

12. Add cooked mutton pieces and saute well. (Preferable boneless & smaller once)

COOKED MUTTON

 

13.Add roasted gram dal powder and allow to blend it well. Gram dal makes the mutton little crispy.

POTTUKADALAI

 

14.Serve it hot as starter.

NOTES:
  • Add extra red chili powder if you want more spicy.
