In this method , we have used the condensed milk and saffron milk to improve the taste and add additional flavors. This dish can’t be kept in room temperature for more than a day but it can be refrigerator for few more days. We would like to have this Halwa with little warm in winter sessions but it differs person to person. It’s good to garnish  with more nuts while serving preferably with almonds and cashews. This dish is very famous in India but now a days it’s universal dish and available in multiple variants.

Gajar ka Halwa Recipe- Carrot Halwa with Condensed milk this dessert tastes delicious.

Ingredients
  • Grated Carrot – 5 (large size carrot)
  • Ghee – 1 tbsp
  • Condensed Milk – 1/4cup
  • Milk – 1/3 cup(Boiled or cooled)
  • Sugar – 1/2 cup
  • Saffron milk -2tbsp
  • Cardamom powder – 1/2 tsp
  • Chopped Nuts – 2 tbsp(I used padam, pista)
Directions
  • Step 1 Take heavy bottom pan add ghee.
  • Step 2 Add grated carrot(peel off the skin and grate it using a grater)and saute for 2minutes till raw smell leaves and it starts to shrink.
  • Step 3 add milk and mix it well
  • Step 4 Once carrots become soft and cooked fully.It will nicely bubble and start reducing slowly,stir sporadically.
  • Step 5 The milk is almost reduced add condensed milk
  • Step 6 Add sugar and mix it well
  • Step 7 Add saffron milk
  • Step 8 Milk evaporate
  • Step 9 Add cardamom powder
  • Step 10 add cashews & almonds
  • Step 11 serve hot & warm

MAKING OF GAJAR KA HALWA

1.Take heavy bottom pan add ghee.

 

2. Add grated carrot(peel off the skin and grate it using a grater)and saute for 2minutes till raw smell leaves and it starts to shrink.

 

3. Add milk and mix it well

 

4. Once carrots become soft and cooked fully.It will nicely bubble and start reducing slowly,stir sporadically.

 

5. The milk is almost reduced add condensed milk

 

6. Add sugar and mix it well

 

7. Add saffron milk

 

8. Milk evaporate

 

9. Add cardamom powder

 

10. Add cashews & almonds

 

11. Serve hot & warm

 

NOTES:
  •  I have used normal carrot if you want you could try with red carrot
  •  Using a thick bottomed utensil is a must.
