Homemade Mysore Pak | Soft Ghee Mysore Pak preparation with step by step photos and a quick video. Mysore Pak is one of the most common sweet in south India. You can’t find any sweet shops or bakery without this item. Though this recipe is prepared with just 4 ingredients, it has to be prepared with extreme care. Mysore Pak melt in the mouth rich sweet is so-called as it was invented in the kitchens of the royal Mysore palace. Here ‘Pak’ or ‘Paka’ refers to the sugar syrup. Kindly note sugar syrup consistency or one string consistency is very important for this recipe. otherwise, Mysore Pak would turn to besan burfi recipe. since the besan is cooked in sugar syrup along with ghee. This recipe is neither soft nor hard. It comes in between variants.

Homemade Mysore Pak | Soft Ghee Mysore Pak preparation with step by step photos and a quick video.

Ingredients
  • Gram flour (Kadalai mavu)-1 cup
  • Sugar-1 cup
  • Water- ¼ cup
  • Ghee (clarified butter)-1 cup
  • Oil (vegetable oil) - ½ cup
Directions
  • Step 1 Take a pan and add ghee
  • Step 2 Add oil and mix it well
  • Step 3 Heat it for few minutes or until ghee melts
  • Step 4 Take gram flour in a bowl.
  • Step 5 Add ½ cup of the ghee and oil mixture into the gram flour and whisk till smooth. keep it aside
  • Step 6 Take a pan and add sugar
  • Step 7 add water and mix it well
  • Step 8 Let the sugar melts. Once it is melted. Bring it to a boil. Cook till one string consistency is reached.
  • Step 9 Add into the gram flour mixture and mix it well.
  • Step 10 Once it is mixed well, add the remaining ghee and mix well.
  • Step 11 Cook till the mixture gets thick and smooth.
  • Step 12 Cook on medium-low heat for 5 mins till it gets thick and bubbly.
  • Step 13 Now turn off the heat and keep mixing for 1 min. It will get nice and thick.
  • Step 14 Now pour this in the greased mold. Spread evenly.
  • Step 15 Cut Mysore Pak into pieces.
  • Step 16 Now cool it for 30 mins.
  • Step 17 Unmould and slice and serve perfect taste and textured Mysore Pak.

Making of  Homemade Mysore Pak | Soft Ghee Mysore Pak:

 

1.  Take a pan and add ghee

2. Add oil and mix it well

3. Heat it for few minutes or until ghee melts

4. Take gram flour in a bowl.

5. Add ½ cup of the ghee and oil mixture into the gram flour and whisk till smooth. keep it aside

6. Take a pan and add sugar

7. add water and mix it well

8. Let the sugar melts. Once it is melted. Bring it to a boil. Cook till one string consistency is reached.

9. Add into the gram flour mixture and mix it well.

10. Once it is mixed well, add the remaining ghee and mix well.

11. Cook till the mixture gets thick and smooth. Cook on medium-low heat for 5 mins till it gets thick and bubbly. Now turn off the heat and keep mixing for 1 min. It will get nice and thick.

12. Now pour this in the greased mold. Spread evenly.

13. Cut Mysore Pak into pieces.

15. Unmould and slice and serve perfect taste and textured Mysore Pak.
