I would always prefer prawns for lunch so that it will digest fast. Prawn pepper fry can be a starter or side dish for chapati/rice. You must cook it in a medium flame to keep the prawns soft. Prawn Pepper Fry Recipe | Eral Milagu Varuval preparation with step by step photos and a quick video.

Ingredients
  • Prawns - 500 gram
  • Chilli Powder - 2 tsp
  • Turmeric powder (Manjal Podi)-½ tsp
  • Ginger Garlic Paste -1 tsp
  • Salt- to taste
  • Oil -1tbsp
  • Onion -1 sliced thinly
  • Green Chili - 2 slit
  • Curry Leaves -a sprig
  • Bell Pepper / Capsicum - 1 sliced thinly
  • Ginger Garlic Paste - 1 tsp
  • Garam Masala Powder-1 tsp
  • Fresh Black Pepper Powder - 1 tsp
  • Spring onion - 2 tbsp
  • Oil- 1 tbsp
  • Salt to taste
Directions
  • Step 1 Take a mixing bowl and add cleaned prawns
  • Step 2 Add ginger garlic paste
  • Step 3 Add redchili powder
  • Step 4 Add salt
  • Step 5 Add turmeric powder
  • Step 6 Add oil and mix it well
  • Step 7 Marinate it for 15 minutes
  • Step 8 Take a pan and add oil
  • Step 9 Add the marinated prawns
  • Step 10 Let it cook for 2 mins until it is half cooked, turns pink and curls.
  • Step 11 Remove the prawns alone in a bowl leaving any of the juices in the Kadai.
  • Step 12 Add chopped onion and saute it well
  • Step 13 Add green chili
  • Step 14 Add curry leaves and saute it well
  • Step 15 Add ginger garlic paste and saute it for a minute
  • Step 16 Add thinly sliced capsicum and saute it well
  • Step 17 Add half cooked prawn and saute it well
  • Step 18 Add garam masala and salt and saute it well
  • Step 19 Cover the lid and cook it for 5 minutes.
  • Step 20 Add pepper powder and mix it well
  • Step 21 Add chopped spring onion and saute it well
  • Step 22 Serve it with rice or chapati.
