Ven Pongal

How to Make TamilNadu Style Ven Pongal / Khara Pongal preparation with step by step photos and a quick video. Ven Pongal is a traditional breakfast in Tamilnadu. People mostly prefer ven Pongal for breakfast and it’s almost available in all the hotels in Tamilnadu. In Karnataka, it’s called as a Khara Pongal but it’s more liquid than Tamilnadu styles of Pongal. I prefer Tamilnadu style Ven Pongal because it’s very soft and silky. It’s prepared with raw rice and yellow split moong lentils. This recipe requires more ghee but in hotels, they might use dalda which is really bad for health. Let’s see how can we make yummy Ven Pongal / Khara Pongal.
